Learn how to add MailChimp as an integration method

MailChimp is an email marketing tool that can be used to send out beautiful emails for marketing campaigns. MailChimp allows you to import client details to a 'list' and create an email 'Campaign'.

SalonBridge allows you to link your account with MailChimp so that clients who visit your salon or spa can be added to your MailChimp lists automatically. This means that when you create email campaigns with MailChimp, all of your SalonBridge clients will automatically be there.

If you are new to MailChimp and are unsure how to get started, it might be a good idea to go through their getting started guide here: https://mailchimp.com/resources/mailchimp-101/

Subscribers:

To add MailChimp as an integration, click on 'My Business' and then on 'Integrations':

Scroll down to the 'Email Marketing' section and click on 'Enable' by MailChimp:

Insert your MailChimp API Key. This is a security key given to you by MailChimp. You can get yours, or create one here: https://admin.mailchimp.com/account/api/

Once you have inserted this, click on 'Connect to MailChimp'

SalonBridge will fetch a list of your MailChimp lists for you to choose from. Choose the list you want your SalonBridge clients added to. If you would like your existing SalonBridge clients to be added to this list, tick the 'Add Existing Clients' tick-box:

Once you have chosen the MailChimp list and chosen whether to add your existing SalonBridge clients, click on 'Enable MailChimp':

Once enabled, all clients that are added or updated in SalonBridge will be added or updated in your MailChimp list.

Events:

When the Mailchimp integration is enabled, SalonBridge can automatically send selected client events to Mailchimp, including:

  • Appointment booked

  • Retail purchases

  • Course purchases

  • Gift card purchases

These events are linked to the client’s profile in Mailchimp, giving you a clearer view of their activity and interests.

How it works

Once your Mailchimp integration is connected, SalonBridge will send supported client activity to Mailchimp when those actions take place in SalonBridge.

For example, when a client books an appointment, purchases a retail product, buys a course, or purchases a gift card, SalonBridge can pass that event through to Mailchimp. This allows Mailchimp to record the activity against that client’s contact profile.

You can then use these events in Mailchimp to better understand your clients, segment your audience, and build more personalised marketing journeys.

What value does this add?

This integration helps you move beyond general email marketing and start communicating with clients based on their real activity.

For example, you could use these events to:

  • Send follow-up emails after a client books an appointment

  • Promote related retail products to clients who have purchased before

  • Create targeted campaigns for clients who have bought gift cards

  • Identify clients interested in specific courses or services

  • Build more personalised client journeys in Mailchimp

  • Improve client retention with more relevant communication

Instead of sending the same message to every client, you can use SalonBridge activity to create smarter, more useful campaigns.

Why is this useful?

Client behaviour gives you valuable insight into what your clients are interested in. By sending SalonBridge events to Mailchimp, you can use that information to create better marketing.

A client who regularly books appointments may need different communication from someone who recently bought a gift card or purchased retail stock. With event tracking, you can create more relevant campaigns based on what each client has done.

This can help improve engagement, encourage repeat visits, promote additional sales, and keep your clients connected to your business.
