When creating a gift card/voucher, the default expiry date is 3 years from the creation date, in accordance with consumer protection laws. You can change this when creating it but you may need to adjust the expiry date should you want to extend or modify the validity period.
While the standard 3-year period is the legal default, adjustments to the expiration date can be implemented after the gift card has been issued. When making changes, ensure you comply with relevant consumer protection regulations and communicate any changes clearly to customers.
On the left navigation menu, click on 'Gift Cards':
Search for the gift card/voucher you would like to delete using either the client details or the gift card code:
Click the 'Options' dots for the gift card/voucher you would like to delete and click on the 'Edit' menu option. From here, you can edit the expiry date of the gift card/voucher.
When adjusting expiration dates, consider these best practices:
Always inform customers about any changes to their gift card expiry dates
Ensure all modifications comply with legal requirements in your jurisdiction
Document your reasons for making changes to expiration periods
Note: If you do not see this option, this will need to be done by a user with Administrator or Branch Manager access.
